Jazz Band

In 2021, my school’s music program, including the big band jazz band I’m part of began preparing for an online Jazz Cabaret. It was to be a huge hour long concert featuring many different forms of music, and have small skits breaking up the regular flow of music. I am the trumpet player for the Senior Jazz Band, and we decided to individually record our own stems (parts) and put them all together in post production. It was a unique experience, as this is what many music producers do nowadays, and I am proud of the final product. The following is the three stems I recorded including the timestamps where you can find those stems being played in the video.

 

 

Piano

I have been playing piano for longer than I can remember, starting when I was a year away from entering preschool.

Even though I enjoyed playing piano, I quickly realised that taking classes, taking exams and playing classical songs was not something that I wanted to persue. I discovered that playing transcriptions from songs that I enjoyed, like movie soundtracks and anime opening songs was something I enjoyed much more. So I dropped all classes and began playing piano as a hobby and pastime, only playing songs that I enjoyed.
